Title: Food Service Field Support Specialist
Qualifications: High school graduate. Possess computer and administrative skills. A
Working knowledge of basic office procedures, operations and equipment,
to include computers, copiers, printers and video projectors. A medium to high degree of proficiency in computer office applications such as MS. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn foodservice computer applications. At least three years of working experience in school food service.
The ability to professionally communicate with all employees of Sumter School District and the public at large. Must be dependable and honest in carrying out daily responsibilities. Must be able to effectively work within a team. Must possess good customer service skills. Must display a positive attitude in working with co-workers and others.
Reports to: Director of School Food and Nutrition Services
Length of Service: 233 days
Rate of Pay: Based upon credentials and experience in accordance with the district-approved pay schedule
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming telephone calls and messages.
- Maintain and order office supplies as needed.
- Assists in processing lunch applications when needed.
- Assists in keeping Food Service student database current with Power School database.
- Maintains current files on large equipment for all schools, to include depreciation schedule.
- Works as a cashier in the schools as needed.
- Performs all other usual office routines and practices associated with the smooth operation of school food service.
- Coordinates the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program and assists with the Summer Feeding program.
- Orders produce from approved vendor.
- Assists with the ordering of milk for all schools
- Assists with the ordering of bread for all schools
- Prepares and follows through with all work orders.
- Distributes all incoming/outgoing mail.
- Assists with catered events as needed.
- Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
- Assist Managers in preparing monthly Inventory reports.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities designated by the School Food Services Director.
- Maintain filing system for Allergy forms.
- Responsible for entering allergens into the PCS database for students with special diets.
