TITLE:                        Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Service (HVAC) Worker

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Three years experience and expertise in heating and air conditioning service

                                    work.

                                    Demonstrates success in performing tasks requiring an understanding of HVAC.

                                    Such alternatives to the above qualifications the Board may find appropriate and

                                    acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:           Maintenance Supervisor

 

JOB GOAL:                To maintain the physical plant in an excellent operating condition.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains and services all air conditioning units on a regular basis.
  2. Maintains and services all hot air boiler and hot water heating units on a regular basis.
  3. Makes all repairs to motors, switches, and electrical fixtures associated with HVAC.
  4. Sets up and stocks all spare parts and equipment needed for the operation of the HVAC department.
  5. Maintains a safe working procedure that is consistent with applicable local and National Safety Council recommendations.
  6. Supervises and helps train anyone assigned to him as a helper.
  7. Keeps adequate records and reports on all maintenance work and materials used.
  8. Makes recommendations for new HVAC installations.    
  9. Manages the computerized Energy Management System.
  10. Responds to assigned work orders.
  11. Responds to emergency calls.
  12. Maintains a valid S.C. Driver’s License.
  13. Must be able to work outside for eight (8) hours a day (flexible schedule when required) and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  14. Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
  15. Performs all other duties and responsibilities designated by the Director of Maintenance and Operations.

 

TERMS:                       240 DAYS.

 

EVALUATION:        Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation by the Director of Maintenance.
