QUALIFICATIONS: Valid South Carolina educator certification in elementary education. A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience required. Must be able to work well with teachers, students and administrators. Extensive knowledge of curriculum standards. Good written and oral communication skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Sumter School District Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and analyze achievement scores and any other test data.
- Collaborate with curriculum coordinators and administrators on all test data and goals.
- Work with administrators to create instructional plans for the school.
- Communicate a variety of instructional techniques to teachers and conduct model demonstration lessons for the staff.
- Visit and observe in classrooms and provide feedback to teachers through focused conferences.
- Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, training sessions, and staff development sessions.
- Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS: 195 Days. Salary and work year to be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Sumter School District.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in compliance with the Board’s policy on evaluation and professional personnel.
