TITLE:                        Electrician

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Graduate; three years experience and expertise in building and mechanical electrical repairs. Demonstrates success in performing tasks requiring an understanding of electrical wiring. Such alternatives to the above qualifications the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Installs constructional wiring for new additions and renovations.
2. Connects new electrical equipment installed in building.
3. Makes repairs to motors, electric outlets, switches, and electrical fixtures that are needed.
4. Checks electrical controls in cooperation with HVAC service person.
5. Maintains a safe working procedure that is consistent with applicable local and National Safety Council recommendations.
6. Supervises and helps to train anyone assigned as a helper.
7. Keeps adequate records and reports on all maintenance work and materials used.
8. Responds to assigned work orders.
9. Responds to emergency calls.
10. Maintains a valid S.C. Driver’s License.
11. Must be able to work outside for eight (8) hours a day (flexible schedule when required) and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
12.  Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
13. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.          

TERMS:                     240 DAYS.

EVALUATION:        Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation.
